Somewhere between nature and culture, between archaism and modernity, identity is built.
As matter needs to be organized and reality simplified when working with textile, our memory uses everything it can and rearranges it in its own way. By showing some of it and choosing to leave the rest behind, it creates links in space and between events. As a slave to our feelings and to the 'here and now', it constantly renews itself and mocks our sense of reason.
However, it is from this ever-changing fragmentation that we must reinvent a consistent tale that is necessary to the building of our individual and social identity.
Through photography, painting, digital tools or needlework, I bring together either objective or mental memory prints. Like Penelope unravelling night after night the work she achieved during the day, I analyse the sequence of images that remain in my reach and I offer a mirroring representation.
